About the Department
Shalyatantra encompasses the management of surgeries using both ancient strategies and modern medical procedures. We specialize in the treatment of anorectal conditions such as haemorrhoids (arsha), fistula in ano (bhagander), and fissures in ano (parikartika) through the utilization of ksharsutra and ksharakarma therapy.
Additionally, our department offers procedures including raktamokshana, jaloka (leech therapy), agnikarma (thermal cauterization), and marma chikitsa (treatment of vital points).

Departmental Activities:
Since the establishment of Maharana Pratap college of ayurveda and medical sciences, the Shalyatantra department has been dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients in need of surgical and para-surgical services such as ksharkarma, agnikarma, and raktamokshana. Our department boasts well-equipped OPDs and a state-of-the-art modular operation theatre. The remarkable Ksharakarma unit has gained recognition in Kanpur and beyond. Furthermore, we actively strive to integrate modern sciences and patient-oriented research into our practices.
